Hi!  This is one of my favorite scar stories so I just have to share it as a story of the week!

This scar treatment demonstrates the profound ability of the body to integrate and tie together the physical and emotional states.

I was teaching the portion of the MPS Pain Management Seminar that discusses scars and the negative impact that a scar can have on the body. When the lecture was over a Physical Therapist came up to me and told me her story.

She reported that she had not been the same since her C-section. She had never felt the same, almost like she was not even the same person. She described the traumatic birth of her child, by telling me that the doctors thought and told her that her baby was no longer alive and they would take the baby by c-section. To her heartbreak and tragedy she went under anesthesia and surgery with this thought and these emotions.

She awoke – to a beautiful and fully healthy baby!  What a true celebration!

The child today is perfect and healthy with no problems. However, she asked me “do you think this scar could be causing pain and dysfunction in my body?” She said “I have low back pain that will not go away no matter what I do therapeutically or how much I work out.” Then shockingly, she went on to describe the anxiety and fear that she has felt since the surgery.  She said “I have not slept a complete full night since the birth.” She asked me,”Why do I feel such anxiety and fear when my child is healthy and it has been 12 years?”

I had the privilege and honor to treat her c-section scar. She did notice that the tightness in her body went away and she was much looser and felt like restrictions were gone.  The next morning, she came in with tears running down her face and shared with the class that something more had taken place – she slept! She felt free and did not feel the heaviness that had weighed her down since the surgery. She felt the anxiety and fear were no longer a part of her!

The release of the energy, the toxins, and the emotions that were bound up in this scar was the key to her healing journey – and I was blessed to experience it with her!  Amazing.
